The BSODR is committed to forwarding oral and dental research in the UK and an important part of this is supporting the next generation of researchers. One of our most exciting events of the year is the Early Career Researchers Study Day. These days are targeted at both those with no formal research experience (maybe a DFT, DCT or specialty trainee) and those with more formal research experience (PhD students or PostDocs). More senior research staff are also welcome!
Last year we held a very successful day in Newcastle. You can read more about it in this blog post from Evelyn Rennie, Clinical Teaching Fellow in Oral Surgery. Evelyn talks about her experience of attending the day. She says ‘For me, the study day provided a wonderful opportunity to connect and network with fellow young dentists from across the country who share my interests’.
This year our ECR study day is in Liverpool on the theme Translational Oral Research. There is an action-packed programme as well as a great social programme to allow networking between the next generation or oral and dental researchers!
